Over the last few weeks, our team in Pakistan has followed up with some families that we redeemed over two years ago. Not only is it encouraging to see how these families have gone on to build better lives, but it reinforces that what we are doing works!

No one wants to be faced with their own mortality. As one person said: everyone knows they’re going to die, but no one really believes it. After a few close calls, we’ve truly accepted that we’re not here for long, and we’ve been having some conversations around the whole idea of leaving a legacy—something that continues to impact the world in a positive way after we die.

We are so excited to share that this week that we clocked over the milestone of setting 1000 families free from bonded labour slavery in the brick kilns of Pakistan! It’s taken 10 years to get here from very humble beginnings to building a team and a donor base that is changing the world one family at a time! We never dreamed 10 years ago that we would one day reach this goal and all the credit goes to YOU for making it happen through your generous giving and support.

With tensions rising between the border of Pakistan and India recently, we’ve had questions from donors asking if our team is in danger and whether the work in Pakistan has been affected. The short answer is no—the team is fine and the work continues. It is however a situation that we are monitoring.

New school books are a big treat for the children in our Freeslaves schools in Pakistan! Education is the ticket to a better life for children from poor families who could not otherwise afford to send their children to school.

The first quarter of 2025 is already behind us – how did that happen?!

None of the children in this photo have ever known a life outside the brick kiln. It’s been 15 years of hard slog for the Rashid family after a bout of tuberculosis forced them to take out a loan for treatment. Now this family can truly start to live, the children can go to school, and together they can build a new life of freedom!
