Nepal
Freeslaves is delighted to be working in education in Nepal. We have three separate projects running there.
Access to Education
In Nepal, we cover school fees and education costs for children who could not otherwise afford any education.
Aid for Orphans
It is not uncommon for parents in extreme poverty to abandon their children. In such cases, we provide support including living and education costs. We ideally aim to find new homes for the children in foster care, but until then they join a large foster family.
Education for Women
We are delighted to be funding an initiative for supporting women in Nepal. This includes education, counselling and support for women who are struggling in poverty.
Philippines
Freeslaves runs a support project in the Philippines to help supply the needs of a struggling community. It started as a support group for street-sweeper women, many of whom were abandoned by their husbands and left to raise their children alone and unsupported.
The project has now grown to include many young children in the area as well as elderly people and families who are also struggling. We do our best to supply food and basic agricultural support, including ducks and chickens for supplying eggs.
